The Hypo Meeting in Götzis is the most prestigious and internationally recognised decathlon and heptathlon meeting of the season.
The crème de la crème of athletics honour us with their presence in Götzis and battle for points, metres and seconds.

The event was founded in 1975 by Armin Hug, Konrad Lerch, Elmar Oberhauser and Werner Ströhle and in subsequent years it has attracted most of the world champions in the decathlon and pentathlon, and the heptathlon since 1981.

Up until now, three decathlon world records have been set in Götzis: 1980 and 1982 by Daley Thompson (8648 and 8730 points) and 2001 by Roman Šebrle (9026 points).

Roman Šebrle and hepthalon champion Carolina Klüft both achieved an exceptional series of five wins in a row
